How To Get A Glamourous Face :: Old Hollywood Style

Everyone loves the old school Hollywood face - it's classic and will NEVER go out of style when a woman wants to look chic. Notice I didn't say "effortlessly" chic, because yes, this look takes a little effort! You don't think Veronica Lake woke up and slapped on some Chapstick to look like that did you??

To pull this look off, here are the basics you will need to accomplish this look:
  1. Rich red lips
  2. Flawless skin
  3. Perfect eyebrows
  4. Liquid lined eyes

I know Gwen Stefani is not old school like Veronica Lake, but she's my epitome of the new Hollywood glam look! Her refreshing interview in the newest October Glamour magazine made me love her even more than I already did (is that possible??) She's so real, so fabulous, so musically talented, and so loves being a mom while literally taking over the fashion/fragrance world...all at the same time! Whew...watch out Oprah here comes Gwen!! Her signature red lips keep her looking put together and very chic, even in sweatpants.

Here are some simple product suggestions that will give you that stunning Hollywood look.

1. Those red lips, Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in "Are You Red-dy" ($8) is Maybelline's newest line of lip color that promises ultra rich and hydrating lipstick all in one.

2. Flawless skin, can be made possible thanks to Benefit's Hello Flawless ($34) powder. A good powder is one of the best ways to get matte perfect skin that can set your foundation and give skin that flawless look.

3. Arch perfect brows for your face, could use Kevyn Aucoin's Brow Pencil ($24) which has earned InStyle Magazine's 2009 Best Beauty Buy for being the best pencil that comes with a self-sharpening tip.

4. Lined eyes, can be compliments of Sonia Kashuk's Dramatically Defining Long Wear Gel Eye Liner ($9). This type of liner makes it a bit easier for those of you that are all thumbs with liquid pen liners!

Now you have the four products you need to pull off that "old fashion" silent movie star look!

About the flawless skin I absolutely agree...it helps when you have the right foundation to hide the differences in the skin tone or pigmentation after an age.
