My Little Black Dress Of Makeup

When you think of the perfect LBD (little black dress), you think this is the piece that will pull your look together.  However, you can't wear an LBD alone and be done with it and walk out the door can you?? NO.

An LBD must also be accompanied by the perfect shoes, accessories/jewelry, purse, hair and makeup.  Then, your look can be complete.  It's just like the old saying of, "there's no I in TEAM."  One LBD cannot work alone to complete a look, it takes a few other details all working together.


**This is one of my two fave LBD's shown at right (my girlfriend made me promise to cut her out of this pic which is why it looks so tiny!).  It's a super old - wait, I like "vintage" better- Free People dress with spaghetti straps, heart shaped neckline, and full skirt with pockets.  I love adding fun leopard print booties with it, or it can be dressed down with leather flip flops! It works for almost any occasion! **






So I figured I would share with you all, my LBD for the face.  Of course it's not ONE specific item, bc my face cannot be complete using only one item.  But I can show you my staple items that I know will always work for me when I'm in a rush or in a bind to pull myself together in a flash.

Hence, my Little Black Dress of Makeup with step by step pics:

Eyes.

1.Too Faced eye shadow duo in Teddy Bear & Heaven.

2. Real Color Hydra Eyes Waterproof Gel Liner in Brown and Dirty.

3. Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara in Black.

Wing that eyeliner slightly at the end, always! For a more lifted eye appearance.

My shadow duo applied with darkest color in the crease and on top of eyeliner to set it.

Loads of mascara.  Focus mainly on the outside corner lashes for a wide eyed look.

Skin.

1.  L'Oreal True Match foundation in color N3.

2.  Cover Girl and Olay simply ageless concealer in #230 (yellow).

Apply the concealer only on the darkest areas.  If you extend it any further, you

get the wretched raccoon eyes!

Cheeks.

1.  Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick compact in Pink Quartz.

This is a bronzer/blush/highlighter mixed in one! 

Gorgeous and foolproof for the blush scaredy cats!

Lips.

1. MAC Viva Glam V Lipglass.

This MAC lip gloss is one of the ultimate neutrals. Works on EVERY skin tone- seriously.

I love that I always have this look in my back pocket (or makeup drawer!) when I need it and am not feeling very creative or adventurous that day.
