My New Favorite Eye Liner - Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil

Now that I've gotten a taste of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil, I want to own the whole entire line!!  I already own 2 of these bad girls right now (bourbon & gunmetal- $18 a piece), and just love everything about them, everything.  Now I have bought their lip pencils in the 24/7 line and unfortunately am not so impressed.  So this blog is only giving kuddos to the eye pencil, in case you were wondering;-)

  • I love the way they do literally glide on- no harsh dried up tugging feeling. Smooth sailing.
  • I love the color palette they offer, the whole rainbow and more.  21 shades in all. I want "graffiti", the bright green w silver sparkle next!
  • Most of all, I love that it does stay on almost all day without reapplying. I've never put 24 hrs to the test, but I have put 9 hours to it and it succeeded in staying true to the first swipe.
  • Easy to sharpen.  That might sound lame or unimportant, but if a pencil breaks off or doesn't sharpen easily, I don't buy it again.

Here's a shot of my "bourbon" color (a deep brown w hint of shimmer) which is the ultimate everyday liner for me- fudge proof and an easy color to wear.  I also personally wore this color to the big wedding this past weekend and applied it on the bride Jayme I worked with here, and it performed so well for me again!!

There were no real good close ups of my makeup taken at the wedding, but I can assure you,
this stuff stays put through a fun and crazy night!  If you can get crazy with a baby in a stroller...ha!!

I had to be ready to work with the bride around 12:30pm and only reapplied my own liner underneath my eyes and added shadow afterwards to smokey up my look for the evening.  After tons of dancing and wrestling 3 kids around the wedding venue, I still had to scrub this stuff to get it off once we hit the hotel around 10:45pm.

Runny eye liner is always a big makeup issue with most of my clients, and this would be my one suggestion right now for those with this kind of trouble.  Pick yourself up one or 5 of these pencils, you won't be sorry!!

Have you had a good experience with the Urban Decay 24/7 line?? What are your fave waterproof products??

What a wonderful blog! I happened upon it today when searching for a recipe to make my own moisturizer. And I spent HOURS on here! You are very passionate and refreshing. I've had a wonderful time and learned a lot of new stuff. I am 49 years old and have been struggling with HOW to wear my makeup. My face has changed so much and less is more I've found. I love mineral foundation but am having trouble with it drying my chin and cheeks out and I dont' even really have dry skin. I love the light feeling of mineral foundation and easy application. I'm hoping with some tender loving care/extra moisturizing I'll be able to wear it or find another brand. I hate to part with it. Thanks for sharing your giftedness with everyone! And I can't wait til tomorrow to see what you have in store, excited! P.S. I ONLY wish you lived closer so I could enjoy your services.

Mikki- what a wonderful comment! So glad you were able to fill hours with my blog- I hope I provided you with some makeup information you could use. Even though I don't live close, at least you can use my blog as an in-home consultation;-) I will try to keep up good content for you and thanks for the realizing how passionate I am about my family and makeup!!

Andee- I knew you'd be an UD fan, yes the color palette is amazing.

I went today to Dillards and replinished my Clarins moisturizers and toner and cleanser. Very pricey but well worth it. My skin has such an even tone and it keeps the redness in my cheeks at a minumum. After trying to make my own moisturizer with lemon, grape seed oil, Vit E, and honey....it was such a bad experience I didn't want to try another one. lol...my face started itching off. Maybe it was the lemon juice or Vit E I have no idea which. My skin is sensitive so I honestly thought my skin would scream thank you thank you....NOT. Has anyone tried the eye lift serum? I have heard bad reviews about it I can't remember the name of it right now. Then I read that egg whites will lift the undereye area in the same way. Thinking of trying another experiment lol.

Yessss, the egg whites DID...LIFT my undereye are....rofl...lifted in to one big wrinkle. That was sooo funny. But I will say, it made the pores on my chin appear smaller. I just rubbed a tiny amount on my chin, let it dry, then apply a second coat and let it dry. Then applied my makeup. Worked really well.

Clarins is a wonderful skin care company with products to boot. I am not a huge fan of at home skin care concoctions, I stick to the professional cosmetic manufacturers. I don't like to cook in my own kitchen, so why would I want to cook up my own skin care products-ha ha!! Interesting about the egg whites working for you though;-)
