Holiday Traditions

This past week was filled to brim with fun holiday traditions - NEW and OLD!!  From attending our first local Christmas parade with my two boys to our annual visit to see Santa since my oldest son was 9 months old - it's been as busy as Santa's workshop around my house!  This post is photo heavy- you've been warned;-)

{My traditional holiday makeup look,
Rudolph red lips + black winged liner always work to perfection.
Products and how-to will follow}

I'm going to start with NEW TRADITIONS, and the first was attending our local Christmas parade here in town. We've lived here for over 6 years and this was the first time we've actually gone, and I can't believe what we've been missing!  It was one of those holiday events that really puts you in the spirit of the season, so this will definitely become a tradition to look forward to.

{My boys loved the parade - despite the weird camera faces;-)}

{My boys were unusually motionless watching the floats go by}

OLD TRADITIONS consist of a neighborhood Christmas get together and our family visit to see Santa- all happened in one weekend.

{Me and my neighborhood girls at dinner- I love these ladies!
We have a red eye issue, but other than that everyone looks so cute!}

My faux fur vest I'm wearing, is a new fave of mine from BB Dakota here, and is going to get a lot of wear this winter for sure.  And not just because the style of the vest is called "Jack" (my oldest son's name!) but because it could also be worn reversible with the suede side out- so you get two vests in one for a killer price!!

 {Vivian did NOT want to cooperate for a cousins family photo along w her brothers.
Yes that's a traditional tantrum being thrown!}

{Me and Viv did a little window shopping at Tiffany & Co.
Who can resist the lure of those shiny windows??}

{More windows shopping at Jimmy Choo.
She loved pointing at everything she wanted
Santa to put under the tree despite the fact she screamed at him when she got on his lap!}

And of course my traditional holiday makeup look that is OLD and NEW because it always works and looks fresh and festive! Bright red lips + black winged eye liner = a Christmas home run!!

{Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper, Bobbi Brown shadow in Gilded and MAC shadow in Embark}

 {Cheeks by Sonia Kashuk in color Melon plus lips by MAC in Lady Danger}

{Classic winged eyeliner}

My trick for making winged liner look its best, is to flick it up right before the end of the outer lash line and not to follow all the way down your natural lash line.  It's an instant eye lift without the surgery!!

What are your favorite holiday traditions- old and new?!!
