A Feeling Of "Community"

I was delighted to have been asked to be a part of a "Service Industry Appreciation Night" hosted by a hip local vintage and sustainable clothing store here in my beloved city of Athens, GA called Community.

{Beautiful dress form with a local designer's work highlighted.}

The owner Sanni, had the very generous idea of pampering local females in the restaurant industry by hosting an event at her store with me doing mini makeovers, a hair stylist providing quick hair fixes, and a massage therapist to relax the ladies.  Here's a look into the night through Instagram plus a couple before and after makeup looks on some already lovely ladies.

{This boutique has everything from handmade pillows and jewelry to redesigned clothing.}

{Stylist Mary Sigalas working a pin curl look on lovely Shay!}

Here are a couple of before and after shots of two fun ladies I worked with on their makeup touch ups  and what areas I focused on.

 {Abby wanted to play up her eyes with a smokey look because she said liner & shadow confused her}

{Her after shot. I filled her brows in a bit then added black liner on top and bottom and smudged it with a charcoal grey shadow. I also added a peachy pink cheek stain and peach shimmer gloss.}

 {Owner Sanni's before shot - I wanted to play up that beautiful bone structure and even out skin tone.}

{Sanni's after.  I added a skin primer, then a yellow based foundation to tone down some natural redness and added concealer under her eyes and around the sides of her nose.  A thick swipe of black liner only on the upper lashes and some rosy cheeks and lips and she was complete!}

 {My personal makeup for the night.
Not a great shot, but I was really working the black winged eye look!}

{My outfit for the night was comfy, with my custom Nikeid kicks, jeggings and cropped leather jacket.}

{Wall of cool paintings and pillows for sale, plus massage therapist Kimberly who even treated me to a quick and relaxing chair massage!}

It was such a fun night and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting a bunch of local ladies who all donated their time and talents to a good cause of supporting other working females in the area.  I will list everyone's contact info from the night below in case you live in Athens and would like to check them out.  Big thanks to Sanni and her crew for inviting me to be a part of such a thoughtful evening in terms of trying to give back to our "Community!!"

See, this is what I love about Athens! All of our retailers & small business support each other. What an incredibly gracious idea from Sanni. We'll be in Athens next month & I can't wait to specifically stop by her shop and spend! :)

Kudos to all of you terrific Ladies for supporting such a great event and selflessly sharing your talents. You never cease to amaze me Jen! God bless.

You did them up so beautifully! I love how you played up their bone structures and made them look amazing without going over the top. Simply beautiful :)
