This last picture of her hair makes me want to weep for her, because the long hair is just so gorgeous and shiny, and girly!!! I understand cutting it off for a big movie, it's her job, it's her craft, it's just hair, it's not a big deal. But man is it sad to see all that beautiful hair gone bye bye.
With it being so hot this summer, I would think having boy-type hair like this would be extremely beneficial in that it would be:
- super low maintenance to get ready in the a.m.
- you wouldn't have to worry with sweaty bangs or long hair sticking to your neck in the humidity
- you would use or need to buy very little hair products
Here are some famous faces I think actually pull off this extreme short look with beautiful ease...

{Victoria Beckham via.}
{Natalie Portman via.}
Two things all 4 of these pixie cut ladies have in common - long skinny necks and absolutely gorgeous feminine facial features!! Musts in order to pull this look off without someone calling Natalie "Nathan" or Victoria "Victor." Oh, and really good makeup - like smokey eyes, lots of lashes, and glossy lips so there's no denying your girly side.
Good news is, hair does grow back if you decide you don't like a pixie cut once it's been chopped. But then there is always that awkward moment of "in-between" that seems to take months and months and months to grow back...
Would you or have you ever cut your hair drastically into a short pixie cut? Did you love it or regret it?

I'm about to burst your bubble, JS. Sorry! Or maybe this will encourage you to keep it long?? :)
I have short hair. I've kept it short for years. The last time it hit my shoulders was in 2007. I'm currently growing it out to half-way between my chin and shoulders...but who knows if I'll stick with it!
Short hair being easy is a complete myth. Mine requires more styling at this length than it does at chin length. I use a blow dryer, straightener, and three products. Not to mention hair cuts every 4 weeks. Bangs at any length stick to my forehead and humid days mean crazy hair. No pony tails here! Also, if I go without makeup I look completely haggard and run down. So no makeup-free days.
In the end, it's worth it. I love short hair. Lucky for me, so does Mr. M! The only reason I'm growing it is because it's been so long since I've played with other styles.
I've had a pixie cut for awhile now and LOVE it. My kids are 7 and 9 so it makes that much easier to get going in the morning. I've tried growing it back out, but I end up having it cut again. I will say it is great for showing off all my earrings!
@Alison- I love that you debunked my low maintenance myth of pixie short hair!! That honestly helps me make up my mind, that that might not be the route I need to go then!! I do love my ponytail:) Thanks lady!
@Mrs.Becky- yes, I bet you can seriously rock some cool earrings with super short hair!!
I have had super short pixie cut when I was in high school (and really love gothic style). It was AMAZING whenever I wash my hair, but I dont look as feminine as those celebrities. =/
Love it, but it also require a constant maintenance...
