Put The FUN Back Into Your Makeup Routine

{Mr./Mrs. Ru Paul. I'm sure he never has a dull makeup moment.}

Let's talk drag queens.

Hang in there with me for a minute. I think drag queens embrace the FUN of makeup better than anyone. They are extremely creative, not afraid to color outside of the lines, and love the art of transformation through color and technique!! Their makeup routines are like experiencing Halloween or playing dress up every day.

So who better to get inspired by, listen to, or learn from than a person who wears makeup specifically to get noticed?! I've looked thru my fair share of drag tutorials and you'd be amazed by some of their secret makeup tricks. (Like how those men get their bushy eye brows to disappear so well?? It's a lot of glue stick and powder.)

Well, if looking like a drag queen is taking things a bit too far for you, and let's be honest, it's a bit too far even for this makeup artist and mom, then here are some more simplified ways to put the FUN back in your makeup routine. Without the glue stick...

Put The FUN Back Into Your Makeup Routine
1.  Katy Perry "Oh Honey" ($7) false eye lashes.  Because it's always more fun to have loads of lashes on.  At least try sporting these babies on the weekend - I promise, falsies are fun.
2.  Yves St. Lauren mascara ($30) in "deep plum." If you can't bring yourself to sport the falsies, at least do something different with your mascara.  Like switching from boring black to a very wearable purple shade.  It looks good on EVERYONE.
3.  Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge ($10).  I own this sponge, and it's a less expensive take on the original pink Beauty Blender.  It makes applying your foundation more fun (and less messy!) than just using your finger!
4.  Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation ($34) is the answer to all of your foundation woahs from the fab reviews it's getting.
5. Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in "fuchsia flash"matte ($19) is the most fun your mouth can have. And by wearing this shocking shade in a matte finish, it helps keep the color looking more refined than if worn super shiny.

Is your current makeup routine a DRAG or are you already having lots of FUN?
