Hanging On To Winter Eye Shadow Shades

Even though there are neon colored bikinis being sold in department stores right now (what??!),  I’m still sporting my favorite faux fur vest in order to stay warm in this way-too-chilly-to-be-living-in-the-south-weather!!  My eye makeup is also following suit by hanging on to the fall/winter weather vibe…

And since it is still crazy cold here, I’ve really been into also wearing a typically winter-ish type shade of shadow – hunter green.  I love seeing this shade on ladies with brown eyes like myself as well as blue eyed gals.  It’s a nice break from boring brown and taupes, but still neutral enough of a color category that most can pull off.
 {Only green I used, from Motives Cosmetics Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Collection, $29.95.}
I am in love with these Motives shadows as they are highly pigmented and can be used wet or dry – which I did use it wet to line my upper lashes with instead of actual eye liner after applying the green shadow dry from lash to crease.  This hunter green shade has just the right amount of dark golden shimmer in it too, which creates beautiful dimension!
Here was another post I did on the Motives brand with a completely opposite color palette.

{Additional colors worn : MAC blush in “fleur power” &
Revlon Super Lustrous gloss in “toast to shine” (sadly discontinued – similar shade here.)}
Here are some great examples of celebs sporting the hunter green shadow look from Huffingtonpost.com, along with a few brighter spring-like options for green!

What about you? Are you still into wearing the more winter-like makeup shades or are you all ready for welcoming in spring with brighter shades?
