DARK SKIN like model Joan Smalls.
You can pull off the truest deep plums like
Dolce & Gabbana Classic Cream lipstick in "Amethyst," $30.
So go for the deepest shade you can find!
MEDIUM SKIN like tv star Lauren Conrad.
You can wear a good range of oxblood type shades from berry red to orange-like
undertones that brighten up your bronzey complexion!
Try a shade like Laura Mercier's creme smooth lip color in "merlot," $27.
FAIR SKIN like actress Michelle Trachtenberg.
You too can pull off the dark side of lips by finding a black cherry shade
that has more blue undertones to it and has a sheer formula you can build the more dramatic you want to go. I'd try Clinique's Chubby Stick Intense lip balm in "broadest berry," $17.
(Don't be fooled by the "balm" description -these things give off major color - remember my post here.)
Beware - these lips are not for the faint of heart, but can be a very confident look! Tip for pulling off lips this obvious - keep everything else reaaaalll subtle. Perfect the skin, go light on the blush, and stick with shadow only on the upper lid and even omit eyeliner all together with just mascara. But a cat eye does add an extra element of pizazz if you're feeling brave! Or you could try this look I featured awhile back that is the complete fall makeup package!
Will you go VAMPY LIPS this fall? Or does it feel too bride of Dracula to you?
