Monday Beauty Mantra

I haven’t done one of these in awhile, so I figured it was time to bring back the short, sweet, and thought provoking Monday Beauty Mantra

Mondays are tough.  I know they shouldn’t be because it’s all about frame of mind.  But I always feel overwhelmed thinking forward to what the week is going to hold (already scheduled events and jobs), what I WANT it to hold, and how little time there is in a day/week to get everything done.

This quote makes me feel better about my blog, freelance business, workout routine (I fell off the exercise bandwagon, but am going to change that), and just life in general. We are such a culture of wanting things to happen now and results need to come faster.  I mean seriously, if you have kids, how many times in a day do you say that line to them, “HURRY UP!”  We need to cut ourselves some slack and just keep moving, and we will get there eventually, whatever the goal that day might be.

Here is a great post by one of my fave mom bloggers, Joanna from A Cup Of Jo here, about slowing down parenting and being present in the moment.  I think it makes sense for even those without children as you can relate it to life in general.  It is one of those posts I read multiple times because I just wanted to soak it in and make sure that I remember to slow down so I don’t miss the little important moments.

I have some exciting opportunities coming up for the month of August and I can’t wait to share them with everyone.  And some of those are just that, opportunities, they aren’t givens, and will take some major effort on my part along the way to make them happen.  But I need to remember that as long as I am working hard everyday to make what I want happen, it doesn’t have to be at lightening speed and to enjoy the journey of getting there.
