NEWS FLASH. Those gorgeous Victoria’s Secret Angels, they don’t wake up looking like they do when they walk down that runway or off of the pages of the catalog. They wake up just like you and I do. Bare faced and one foot after the other on the floor when they leave the bed.
Ok, maybe some don’t wake up super early and harried to rush off making lunches for their elementary school kid wearing 10 year old pajama pants with holes in them (yes, I have a pair of those). But they do rise and wake up without all the glitz and glamour shown on the pages of the holiday catalog among the silky sheets and perfect lighting.
Candice (above) and the other Victoria’s Secret models have their “signature angels look” that is the result of lots and lots of hair, makeup, workout routines, etc.
So the good news is, we all have the opportunity to use the tricks they do (or their makeup artists do!) when it comes to their beauty look. No workout and diet tips here, I like Wendy’s cheesburgers and cheese dip too much to be helping y’all out on that front:)
This tutorial is the ultimate #throwbackthursday because I found these photos of this VS Angel look that I had created months ago (before bangs!) and had not shared yet.
Here are some simple tricks and product suggestions for stealing their look :
Highlighted Skin : Charlotte Tilbury FilmStar Bronze and Glow Sculpting Duo // Shimmery Eyes : Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette // Lash Strips : Ardell Demi Wispies // Glossy Lips : Urban Decay 24/7 lip pencil “Naked 2” with Buxom Lip Polish on top “White Russian”
- Glowing Skin. You want that angelic glow, and this is how you get it. I used my fave Charlotte Tilbury FilmStar Bronze and Glow duo which contains a bronzer for contouring those cheekbones (from middle of ear towards hollow of cheek) and the perimeter of the face. Then swipe the champagne highlighter along the tops of those cheekbones, top of lip, and bridge of nose. Yes this duo is a bit pricey, but seriously worth every penny if you want a realistic glow and a bronzer that isn’t too orange.
- Shimmery Eyes. The new Smoky palette is by far my favorite of the Naked bunch and in this VS look I used a combo of shades “thirteen” (ivory) on the brow bone, mixture of “slanted” and “armor” (two shades of grey and silver) from lash to crease, “black market” (black used wet) as my liner, and “high” (nude shimmer) in my tear duct area. If you want a closer look at this palette, click HERE to see my review.
- Mega Lashes. Must add falsies. No other way, and it’s easier than you think. My faves are by Ardell in style Demi Wispies. Make sure to cut your lash strip to fit your eyelash line, bc if it’s too long, it will go on funny and uncomfortable. Do all of your eye makeup first, curl lashes, apply a coat of mascara. Then, add your lash glue to the strip, wait 30 seconds to get slightly tacky and dry, then start from the inside corners and press down on the back side of your natural lashes. Done. Bedroom eyes!!! You can either apply mascara to the falsies to blend them in with your nature ones or leave them wispy and less dramatic.
- Glossy Neutral Lips. This is the easiest part. No messy overdone bright bold lip. Keep it simple. Line your entire lip line with a nude liner, even a bit over your natural line if you have thin lips like me! Then apply a plumping gloss in a nude, neutral, or light pink shade. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know I ride and die by the Buxom lip creams. I’m wearing “white russian” which is a pale white based pink in this look.
Now you’ve got the secrets, so go get your sexy model thing on!!
