{MAC "myth" lipstick, $14.50)
Now after I received my tube in the mail and busted it open to immediately try it on my bare lips, I was kinda shocked. It was REALLY NUDE, almost to the point of being beigey-white. That wasn't going to really work for me and my currently pale matching skin. So I did a little recon work, and started over.
{Urban Decay's "illegal" 24/7 lip liner was added underneath to adjust the nude-ness!}
I lined and filled in my lips with my "illegal" lip liner ($19) to give my lips more of a rosey nude base. Then I tried my new purchase again, and voila! I love the satin finish of this lip color, because it's not too matte, yet not too shiny like a gloss.
{A small adjustment made a BIG difference on my now perfect nude mouth!!}

There are a ton of versions of nude lipsticks and glosses on the market, it just takes some trial and error to see which ones actually work for you. Eventually with a bit more color to my skin, I think I'll love this shade even more as summer creeps in. However, if I were a lot fairer, this probably wouldn't work for me and make my mouth actually disappear! But like I said, "it's not a myth, nude lips are sexy!!" And this mama of 3 can always use a little more sexy in her life for those days when I have to deal with poopy diapers, homework, and temper tantrums!!
So since I'm always searching for that IT nude lip color, share with me what your favorite is!!

Great post! I really struggle with nude lipsticks. I always feel like they don't look right with my shade of skin. But, I love Revlon Super Lustrous in Just Enough Buff and Sonia Kashuk's (new!) Soft Nude.
You're got me all confused, I reread it at least 3 times before I figured it out. LOL...oh Fridays....
Myth was one of my very first purchases from MAC and no wonder it's a top seller. Absolutely lovely!
Love the MAC shade on your.
Please come by Tulips&Tulle soon!
@Alison- thanks for the other 2 recommendations- I'm a huge Sonia Kashuk fan, so I will def be checking that one out.
@PBunnieP- sorry for confusing you!! ha!!! When did you first buy Myth?? I know it's been around for quite awhile bc I've been hearing about it for a couple years- took me awhile to pick up on it huh??
@Tulips&Tulle-thanx lady! will def stop by very soon!
I love what you did to it! It looks amazing on you. I can't do a totally nude matte lip either. I usually will just do a clear gloss because my natural lip color is the best nude for me. That with a smokey eye. :) xoxo

I love nude lips! I'm currently looking for a new nude lipstick. I've wanted to try Myth for a while, but I'm super pale so don't think it'll work as well for me :( xx
I have become Nude-sessed and have been searching for the perfect nude shade for MONTHS! I actually just picked up a tube of Loreal lipstick in Fairly Nude and oh my word I am in LOVE!!!! I didn't know I could love a cheap lipstick so much!!!!!
@JenniferMartin- oh how I love the cheapo lipsticks!! Of course you have peaked my interest with this color, so I might have to go drop some coin and check out Fairly Nude- thanks...I think;)
This look is GORGEOUS on you!!! So often, nude lipsticks can make a person look sickly, but this shade actually lights up your whole face...
What blush were you wearing? It's super-flattering too.
@Grenouille- thanks!! it's Sonia Kashuk bush in "melon"
