Okay, mind out of the gutter. I’m talking about Benefit’s “They’re Real!” mascara and how it makes my lashes look like I’m wearing falsies…
{Mascara – Real. Diamonds – Not real.}
If you regularly follow my blog, you know that I’m typically a drugstore mascara kinda gal. I haven’t found many department store mascaras that I think deserve the over $20 price tag. But this Benefit mascara hilariously called “They’re Real!” ($23) has given me faith in a more expensive formula.
{Who doesn’t love a good before and after?}
The biggest benefit (if you will) to this mascara is the way the wand is shaped. Not only does it have the traditional spikes around the wand but it’s also got tiny spikes that poke up along the very tip. This helps more than you can imagine to get those hard to reach lower lashes and ones right near the tear duct. It actually gets to all of your lash hairs at once!
{Extreme Lash Makeover wand edition.}
{2 coats, no eye liner yet.}
{Finished with liner.}
I really should stop at just one coat of this stuff because it is just enough. If you’re a “crazy coats of mascara lady” like me, (I truly love the act of swiping on mascara) it will start to clump and get way too thick. A little goes a long way, which is actually really great. The only downside one might find with this mascara, is that it takes some effort to remove – this stuff wants to stay on all.day.long!! You have to use a waterproof eye makeup remover like this drugstore one I’ve fallen in love with to get it off easily with no tugging and struggling.
I’ve literally been asked a couple of times if I’m wearing false lashes when I’ve got this mascara on. To which I happily reply, “nope, they’re real!!”
I’d like to thank all of my Facebook fans for recommending this product to me awhile back when I posed the question on my page asking what was your favorite mascara. I might not have ever stumbled onto it without you gals!! Gotta love the power of social media to connect me with all of you beauty lovers!!
Have you given Benefit’s “They’re Real!” mascara a try yet?
